CSP in Ecuador
In certain pockets of the world, children struggle to make it past age 5. One of our partners, Compassion International, has developed an initiative to set these children on a path toward healthy development. The Child Survival Program works with churches around the globe to help mothers of at-risk infants and toddlers with supplies and training like prenatal care, infant survival training, nutritious food and supplements, ongoing health care, spiritual guidance and education, and the loving support of a local church.
LifeChurch.tv sponsors a Child Survival Program in Ecuador to help families in poverty face a better future. The program has been active there for several years and relies on local women to play an essential role. They serve as Promoters, who care for and train mothers on a weekly basis, helping lead the family to a restored sense of purpose and relationship with Christ.
Local pastor Marco Mamarandi said, “We help in all areas of their development, such as their physical development and the development of their health. But it's the spiritual development, we believe, that will set the foundation for everything else.”
