Haiti Relief Efforts
As a church, our hearts ache for those who are dealing with the tragic aftermath of the earthquake that struck Haiti on January 12, 2010. We cry out to God and ask for His strength, peace, comfort, and protection for the people of Haiti. We pray for miracles in the midst of the wreckage.
LifeChurch.tv is joining forces with other churches to offer prayer and financial support for disaster relief efforts in Haiti. Here's how you can participate:
Prayer Gathering
In partnership with other churches, we hosted an online Night of Prayer where thousands of prayers were shared for the people of Haiti and the relief efforts there.
Give
Give to LifeChurch.tv's Compassion Ministry. From Saturday, January 16 - Friday, January 22 all gifts that are designated to Compassion will go directly to support Haiti disaster relief efforts through our two partners, Convoy of Hope and Samaritan's Purse. You can also give directly to these reputable organizations and find the latest updates on their websites:
Convoy of Hope http://www.convoyofhope.org/ already has an extensive network of churches in Haiti through which it provides relief, so they are situated to take action quickly. They are offering medical assistance, food, and water at relief centers in five districts. You can follow them on Twitter: http://twitter.com/ConvoyofHope and follow Convoy of Hope's country director in Haiti on Twitter: http://twitter.com/kevinandaimee
Samaritan's Purse http://www.samaritanspurse.org/ is shipping needed supplies and has deployed an emergency response team to help with water, shelter, medical care, and other emergency needs. If you are a medical professional and are interested in going to Haiti during the emergency relief period to provide medical care, please email Cathi@lifechurch.tv and we will provide your information to Samaritan's Purse.
